“The soy-based coating on the harness surrounding critical wiring attracts squirrels who are keen to the scent resulting in wiring critical to the operation of the vehicle being chewed and malfunctioning. Not only is this repair expensive, but since one doesn't know it has happened, it is extremely dangerous when messing with critical components that affect the safe operation of the vehicle. Insurance has determined they will pay for the repair, but nothing is done to recoup the $500 deductible I had to pay, and the inconvenience of not having my vehicle for a long period of time. The replaceme…”

I had to steer the car to the curb to stop it. It stopped but caused one of the wheel flat and its fender fell off. We called the dealer and after a few arguments they tow our car to their body shop. “Hi! A couple weeks ago i noticed the horn in my 2024 Hyundai Venue Limited was not working. My husband made an appointment to take it in to the dealership for the soonest available date which was about a couple weeks from that day. You couldn’t see how fast you were going, how much gas is in the tank, your tire pressure, and a lot more vital information. This happened on a sunday so the dealerships were closed so I disconnected and reconnected the battery which seemed to temporarily fi…”

How we read this (methodology)
How to read this: raw complaint totals are not a clean reliability score — a model year with more cars sold, or simply more years on the road, accumulates more complaints regardless of how good it is. So this page leans on two signals that are not distorted by sales volume: the share of complaints falling on each vehicle system (the breakdown above) and NHTSA's own crash / fire / injury / death flags. When we compare model years of the same model, we normalise by years on the road (complaints ÷ vehicle age) rather than comparing raw totals. Age-normalised, the 2024 Hyundai Venue draws about 6.0 complaints per year on the road, ranking 1 of 5 among the Hyundai Venue model years we have ingested (1 = most complaints per year on road).
