“Good day. I purchased a 2024 Ford Edge SEL in March 2024. I would like to call your attention to the vehicle's horn. I was unable to alert a truck driver who was backing up that he was going to back inro my car. The horn for the vehicle is extremely weak, in fact too weak to be audible to a driver in front of you who has their car windows closed. It is inaudible in that instance nor is it audible over traffic noise or rain. In my case, the only thing that stopped the truck continuing its reversing was my vehicle - he couldn't continue moving. It resulted in $5,800.00 front-end damage…”

“My backup camera began malfunctioning in November 2025. Initially, the image became distorted, and shortly after, the screen went completely blank with a message instructing me to contact the dealership. I did so and was informed that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that I would be responsible for the repair costs out of pocket. I referenced the 15-year rearview camera extended warranty that applies to non-recalled vehicles. The dealership stated they were unaware of this warranty. As a result, I contacted Ford directly and opened a case with the Automotive Safety Office in Novem…”

“Travelling on the expressway I received a warning on my dash that my steering had failed along with other warnings. I lost the power steering and it was very hard to maneuver. I took it to a dealer that said it was electrical (software) and they had to reset it. Why???? My concern is it could have caused an accident if my wife was driving because she would not of been able to steer it. Or if I was in the middle of a turn or lane change. This is very concerning as I'm worried about a re occurrence.”

It jeopardizes my safety every time I drive the vehicle as I feel like I need extra time to focus when looking at my mirror because of the distortion. I have taken my vehicle to 2 different Ford dealerships, 1 said that they didn't see an issue and the other one verbally said that they could see some distortion but it did not justify them to do a replacement but that glass degrades over time and to just ask them to check the mirror next time when I get an oil change so that they can test to see if it'…”

How we read this (methodology)
How to read this: raw complaint totals are not a clean reliability score — a model year with more cars sold, or simply more years on the road, accumulates more complaints regardless of how good it is. So this page leans on two signals that are not distorted by sales volume: the share of complaints falling on each vehicle system (the breakdown above) and NHTSA's own crash / fire / injury / death flags. When we compare model years of the same model, we normalise by years on the road (complaints ÷ vehicle age) rather than comparing raw totals. Age-normalised, the 2024 Ford Edge draws about 14.0 complaints per year on the road, ranking 7 of 8 among the Ford Edge model years we have ingested (1 = most complaints per year on road).
