“This 2022 Hyundai Tucson stalled in the middle of a busy highway with my wife in the vehicle. The car suddenyly stalled while going 75mph and she was almost killed and got rear ended. Later we were informed by the dealership that there is a inherent issue with the fuel injection system on these vehicles and the fuel injector has gone bad. These people only replaced the faulty injector. Two months back another injector went bad and then i researched and found this is a bad engineering issue. Now Hyundai is trying to hide behind the veil of Texas Leamon law and is not taking any responsibility…”

“While driving the car stalled and then the engine shutdown, caused by a misfired fuel injector. Myself and the passengers in the car were minorly safe, as this incident occurred while driving through the Yellowstone National park; having to pull over on the side of the road with no shoulder. The Woody Smith Hyundai Dealership in Idaho Falls confirmed that the feul injectors had misfired, and then replaced them. Prior to the failure, there was no warning until the car was actively stalling and failing (battery light and check engine light came on).”

Hyundai diagnosed and internal Transmission failure and approved transmission replacement. I’m concerned about the sudden loss of proportion and the safety risk this creates. Suspension 3 1 crash

“Hello, I am writing because I have experienced mechanical issues with my car since I purchased the automobile. Since I bought the car, I began having problems with the electrical components, the automatic emergency brake engaging while driving, and the chassis. The emergency brake has engaged while driving numerous times and has consistently been unpredictable since I've owned the car. In addition, the car's handling and suspension have been problematic since purchasing the vehicle. The car has driven poorly, with many vibrations and feeling extra loose throughout my owning the car. I receive…”

“Trailing arm bushings on both sides appear to generate considerable noise indicating wear (has been since delivery but getting much worse over this year). Dealer's solution was to simply lubricate them. The owner manual says nothing of this, and I think this is a simple "go away" band-aid solution. Attempted to reach Hyundai corporate, who asked me to confirm with the dealer if that is proper. That seems like a question for engineering, not the dealer who applied the band-aid fix. It is apparent that the bushings they affixed to the vehicle are defective and could possibly cause larger issue…”

“The car has been erratic in its performance since purchase. The car has a continuous issue with the suspension, electronic system, and brakes. I have reached out to Hyundai manufacturer on numerous occasion regarding the car and no one is addressing my concerns. The car drives so erratic and unpredictable that I am fearful that someone will be injured or worst. Attached is a photo of the entire system going offline, which occurs all the time, and because the whole care is computerized this poses a safety risk for me and others on the road. When the car goes offline, I no longer have con…”

“Wireless Apple Carplay disconnects randomly causing loss of onscreen maps and turn by turn directions. Hands free phone calls are also dropped. This creates a very dangerous, not to mention annoying situation when driving in busy traffic and depending on the map guidance. It has caused me to take my attention off the road trying to get the system to reconnect so I do not miss an exit or turn. Many others with the same make/model vehicle are complaining of this same defect on the internet. Today it happened 20-30 times on a 3hr trip. Most times it reconnects on its own after a some time. Someti…”

How we read this (methodology)

How to read this: raw complaint totals are not a clean reliability score — a model year with more cars sold, or simply more years on the road, accumulates more complaints regardless of how good it is. So this page leans on two signals that are not distorted by sales volume: the share of complaints falling on each vehicle system (the breakdown above) and NHTSA's own crash / fire / injury / death flags. When we compare model years of the same model, we normalise by years on the road (complaints ÷ vehicle age) rather than comparing raw totals. Age-normalised, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson draws about 73.6 complaints per year on the road, ranking 1 of 13 among the Hyundai Tucson model years we have ingested (1 = most complaints per year on road).
