“My Hyundai Palisade is subject to Recall 283 (NHTSA Recall 25V607000) involving the seat belt system. The affected seat belt has exhibited sticking and binding issues. On at least one occasion, the belt became so tangled and stuck that I had to use pliers to free it. Children regularly use this seating position. I have contacted my Hyundai dealership, Circle Hyundai in Shrewsbury N.J., approximately 4-5 times over the past several months seeking recall repairs. Each time I was advised that parts were unavailable and that the dealership was waiting for Hyundai to supply the recall remedy. I a…”

This is a huge safety risk. Last time our vehicle went in for an oil change- dealership said there is no fix for this at this time. I filed a complaint with Hyundai XXX 5/3/26 after happened the day before. “We brought our vehicle to Anaheim Hyundai for a recall-related service update. Before releasing the vehicle back to us, dealership staff advised that we “may experience some issues” after the update and stated that this was considered “normal.” Later that same evening, the vehicle began stalling while driving. The stalling occurred 7–8 times in different driving situations, including while turning through a busy intersection with oncoming traffic. The windshield wipers on my 2022 Palisade are crossing and failing in snow, which is the exact safety defect described in Recall 243. The Hyundai palisade is a 2022, sadly the brakes started acting like they were not working. Took again at 35,000 miles and was ignored again. 42,000 the dealership finally listened and replaced rear shock insulation, problem persisted but was a little more muted. 48,860 miles took it to another dealership and they replaced both rear shocks reporting them both as leaky rear shocks. Now at 70,000 all previous symptoms are back and louder than before.”

Now, front rotors are suddenly so warped they need to be replaced immediately.”

We heard a loud bang and we were showered with broken glass. My wife, two sons and I received minor cuts. My wife possibly got some glass in her eye but seems to have gotten it out with no ill effect. While I was very startled I didn’t swerve. If I had, we would likely have lost control of the vehicle. Wheels 3
“Suspension has been an issue since 10,000 miles. Rear shocks replaced at 58,000. 3,000 miles later the noise & bumpy ride have returned. Had to replace front brakes before 50,000 miles due to wear. Replaced all 4 tires due to extreme uneven wear at 45,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11666020, 2025
“In Sept. of 2023 I had my routine maintenance on my vehicle, oil change.at Tempe Auto Nation Hyundai. My drivers side 3rd row headrest was not staying up and needed to be replaced. I also mentioned to my extremely rude service agent Jake that my vehicle also had oil dripping coming from under the rear. I allowed him to do the oil change but not the headrest. I transferred location to have my vehicle serviced to Camelback Hyundai. My headrest was replaced by Camelback Hyundai. I also mention the oil leak to my service rep. Steve. I was also told that the vehicle was given an inspection. That I…”

“Troubling noise from rear suspension/wheel when crossing small bumps at low speeds. It is a clunk/rubbing noise, almost a deep creeking sound. Came on suddenly - first noticed when leaving for work one day. Many weeks to get into dealership.”

Back Over Prevention 2
“Randomly but frequently, my car would turn off when coming to a stop and with the auto shut off - but the full car would turn off and to move, I would need to press the ignition to turn back on and drive. This even occurred while accelerating onto a highway. I took this to the shop and after 6 months of back and forth and paying for fuel injectors they 'repaired' it. Now, my car felt heavy with the auto turn off but the vehicle stayed on. The next day, while trying to accelerate up a hill on a highway, the RPM would rev but the car would not shift and accelerate. Additionally, I am getting…”

NHTSA complaint #11552907, 2023
“My car randomly starts itself if I leave the keys in it. Tge auto lights stopped working one night while driving. Hasn't done it again since. While my son and I were driving it decided to shut off at 50 mph. There was no warning at all. It has not been inspected as it has nit happened again to be seen.”

“Vehicle sped up/kept going towards the traffic ahead while on adaptive cruise control. Vehicle also started showing “radar disabled” warnings & has continued intermittently (on a daily basis) for about the past 3 weeks. The “forward collision avoidance disabled” warnings keep popping up even while NOT on cruise control. Nothing physical is blocking the radar. The on-board computer does NOT record any errors & the dealership claims they can’t see the error (apparently the computer doesn’t record/store the errors). I have pictures & videos of the errors & reported to the manufacturer.”

How we read this (methodology)
How to read this: raw complaint totals are not a clean reliability score — a model year with more cars sold, or simply more years on the road, accumulates more complaints regardless of how good it is. So this page leans on two signals that are not distorted by sales volume: the share of complaints falling on each vehicle system (the breakdown above) and NHTSA's own crash / fire / injury / death flags. When we compare model years of the same model, we normalise by years on the road (complaints ÷ vehicle age) rather than comparing raw totals. Age-normalised, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade draws about 59.2 complaints per year on the road, ranking 5 of 5 among the Hyundai Palisade model years we have ingested (1 = most complaints per year on road).
Before you buy this Hyundai Palisade
Don't buy on the strength of a problems page alone. Check the exact VIN of the car you're looking at. The open recalls are free, and the full $19 safety report pulls every complaint, safety rating and a downloadable PDF for that one vehicle.
