Power Train 40 1 crash

“The car was in a front end collision; the airbags did not deploy. Insurance said the car was reparable and fixed it; car was picked up from body shop on 07/19/2024. In May 2025, at only 3 years old, the transmission went out at 95,000 miles and was just replaced. Ford would not admit the accident had anything to do with the transmission going out on a 3 year old car. I was quoted almost $10,000 to replace it, but Ford "helped" and paid $4000 and I was left with the balance of $6200.”

My car is only four years old and only has 75,000 miles on it. Ford refuses to do anything to help with this almost $8000 repair. How we read this (methodology)

How to read this: raw complaint totals are not a clean reliability score — a model year with more cars sold, or simply more years on the road, accumulates more complaints regardless of how good it is. So this page leans on two signals that are not distorted by sales volume: the share of complaints falling on each vehicle system (the breakdown above) and NHTSA's own crash / fire / injury / death flags. When we compare model years of the same model, we normalise by years on the road (complaints ÷ vehicle age) rather than comparing raw totals. Age-normalised, the 2022 Ford Edge draws about 25.0 complaints per year on the road, ranking 5 of 8 among the Ford Edge model years we have ingested (1 = most complaints per year on road).
